In a country where the youngest Americans in schools are too young to remember Parkland and the majority of current college students were born after Columbine, have school shootings become the new normal? Taking a look at real words, real moments, real numbers, and real names of school shootings victims and survivors sure makes it seem that way. It makes them seem just as American as the National Anthem or Bald Eagles. But that takes away the human aspect of it. The families and communities that are left behind after the tragedy is no longer on national news. 

It leaves us questioning if this is the way that life has to be. If there is anything we can do to change the tide. Or if there is a chance that everyday at school may be a child’s swan song.
